Yesterday some friends and I went on a walk at our local park. A place we like to explore due to the varied habitat. It was a cold day. Nary a bird or beast was stirring during this time. We came upon a rivulet of water that had frozen in the pathway. When I stop to look at such ice formations I often "see" things in the ice. In this little patch I saw an 'Ice Dancer'.
I could hardly wait to get home and paint what I saw. What do you see in this puddle? Do you ever see things in ice??
Everyone sees different things. It is always fun to look through other peoples eyes.
The mud was frozen into interesting wrinkles and rivulets. It looked like a fossil you might find in a rock.
Happy Winter.

Beautiful painting! I love the way you have been inspired
it does look like fossils - how interesting. I always look for patterns - I love the ice cracks
I see the dancer in the ice! It reminds me of rock paintings. I like your journal page. Nary a bird or beast stirring here with temperatures going over 40C (104F).
I love your title. I can see it! It's such a lovely painting too. And the shots of your comrades in art....
I love this. And yes I do see things in icy puddles, but mainly spend my time not slipping ha ha. Not as much fun in London on grey grimy pavements!
Yes! Pictures in mud, clouds, rocks, are all fascinating! I see your dancer, too. It's fun as well to see through other's eyes; I especially like to see the results after everyone has done the same subject.
Your sketching is lovely - like capturing a moment in time.
I saw this and thought I commented. arrgh. I must have been rejected by your word verification. I am a real person...lol The mud does look like fossils. Not sure I look for things in ice. Clouds yet but then I don't see ice much around here except in the birdbaths. Will have to check that out next time. :) great journal page.
These are stunning!
Water seems to create its own universe wherever it goes.
I like your painting Lisa. I'm afraid I'm not nearly as observant as you. I wish I was.
Beautiful rendition of natures gifts!
Wow your painting is more beautiful than the real thing!
Indeed I saw a long character in there.....
It is fun to see things in clouds and in ice.
Here all the snow is melted and we are having a week of endless rain again :(
Happy to see the sun next week.
Have a wonderful week!

I'm really enjoying your journal pages. I like your painting better then the real thing too! Great interpretation.
I love stepping on those thin ice puddles because I like the sound.
Hubby got a call this morning and got a job :)
Temporary, but we won't have to move! Thanks for your prayers.♥
fantastic winter observations!
I love to inspect things close up! Such patterns and inspirations! You did a wonderful sketch of this! Absolutely love it!
